From the 19 to 26 October is performed at the Centro Cultural Recoleta the seventh edition of the show Design Connection, Cienporciento derived diseno.Este year the entry is free and the proposal is a bit more experimental, “almost an art show” defined by a designer with whom I spoke yesterday.
In this context, the sample this year joined forces with more eco-profile design (which had begun to sketch in recent years) and has a section Remade: an Italian organization that advocates the design of materials recovered.
This section has interesting material Portugal, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.Otro interesting aspect is that this space has a small exhibition Remade by the girls of Minimum Footprint Study (formerly “Him”) reflecting on the life cycle of products.
It is curious that a few years ago nobody was talking about these issues and is now starting to see more. I guess it's a reflection of the move is in United States, but whatever the cause I see very positive.
According to the organizers, upon completion in Recoleta, the sample is in a new shopping center called NorCenter which opens in late October in Vicente López and described as “the first lifestyle mall”.
Speakers included some that I published in TreeHugger as Vacavaliente, which has an adorable new line of pals; Neumatic and reclaimed rubber bags, waste products of textile industry Plotting, and a chair he designed Patricio Lixklett with cueroflex (bonded leather) I found really interesting (is a picture in the extended). There was also some light fixtures Federico Lopez Picasso and other yarns in the courtyard.
Unfortunately I can not post more pics because I plan to make a note to TreeHugger and new policies of the site suggest that the content is more exclusive, yet this is a good excuse to encourage them to go for a ride by the sample.
