
(Photo Credit: arteBA.) From the 29 May to 2 June takes place the 17th edition of arteBA, the fair of contemporary art galleries largest in Argentina. Every year, arteBA serves as a market for collectors and galleries, but also (since the introduction of section Barrio Joven) as an interesting window to see what is happening in the local art scene in terms of new faces and spaces.
This year, section Barrio Joven is sponsored by Chandon and is made 20 areas of Argentina and Latin America Florencia Braga Menendez elected and Franklin Pedroso. Links to selected emerging galleries and more in the rest of post.
At the site of the fair, Braga Menendez explained the choice of sites referring not only to their novelty, but the business plan and continuity were. “I do not know how many of the exhibitors at the next edition of Barrio Joven Chandon continue their way into the gallery. But I bet they are many. I think that's what we tested with Franklin Pedroso when we take hours of back and forth checking folders. We choose projects of artists and small business development, tomorrow they will have their space and market arteBA Argentine art”.
Barrio Joven This year will also award a prize to an artist under 30 years will not necessarily be the acquisition of his work, but which may be used to what the benefit is most important for your career. The prize will be four thousand dollars.

With regard to new proposals, arteBA section also presents Black Box / White Cube, in which they view videos of different aesthetics.
On the other hand, arteBA 2008 with the participation of 53 Argentine galleries, Brazilian nine, five Chilean, three Spanish, three Americans, three Peruvian, two American / Venezuelan, two Uruguayan, an Argentine / French, a Colombian / Spanish, a Costa Rican and a Dominican / estadounidense.
The fair will also honor three Argentine artists enshrined: Gyula Kosice (1924), Enio Iommi (1926) and Testa Clorindo (1923), in an exhibition curated by Ana Martínez Quijano.
