Inspiration: Ferreyra Palace Museum

Museo Palacio Ferreyra

Last Easter I was in the capital of Cordoba and was impressed with the architectural level, art and design of this city. I found a sparkling new power and above all with a lot of money invested in infrastructure.

Among the most important works were made in recent years are the Paseo del Buen Pastor, the expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts Caraffa Ferreyra Palace and Museum.

The latter project has been surrounded by considerable controversy, first by the price at which it was acquired Palace, then the investment in the work, later by the alteration of the original building, and still causes. Despite this, I think the end result is amazing and gives character to the city of Córdoba. More photos in the rest of post.

Unfortunately I have the knowledge to get to make architectural analysis of this work, but I share some photos I took and some fragments of an explanatory note of the newspaper by its correspondent in Orlando Cordoba Andrada.

“The building is an architectural gem that Martin Ferreyra Commissioned by the French cabinet on Paul Ernest Sanson 1914, in Nueva Cordoba neighborhood today. In the center of a whole apple grated, was designed following the strictest rules of composition of the Ecole de Beaux Arts. The house was made up of countless rooms, enclosures and baths: at the top level had 27 spaces. His rehabilitation to accommodate the museum required a skilled work involving revolutionize everything inside the big house, with demolition of walls to make way for large rooms”.

“The responsibility of the task was in charge of the study GGMPU architects, with the architect Jorge Morini. The practitioner said that [all parts] resolved without altering the original architectural features, had reconciled since ancient and modern. “Ferreyra Palace, mysteriously, seems to have been designed to be a museum in the future because it is not forced, if the whole course, nothing is pressed”, Moroni said”.

What they did to the palace is an atrocity. The Argentines, by ignorant, antics such as this one allow governments to shift.
In the course of remodeling all the furniture disappeared Paris, English curtain, Persian carpets and countless objects of great value. It was a pillage.
Where is all this heritage?…..In the house of Moroni and De la Sota?…

an atrocity what they did with the majestic palace . result of ignorance , the lack of culture , mediocrity and visceral resentment of the shift Peronist who did this and wanted to win elections at the time . not enough and the destruction they have done in the country to continue to destroy what little we have left??? paradox : must destroy to build new culture historical ?
