(Photos: Lives under siege.) It's strange and fascinating the subject of anxiety and fear, two constants that plague XXI century society. Strange, because even people less prone to anxiety attacks fall as victims to join this exciting day by day and cause feelings of anxiety and fear are for the most difficult to deal with uncontrollable, and can have serious consequences for a person (read imprisonment, depression, etc.).
They are of the most attractive for treating a photographic exhibition, but it was the theme chosen by the photographers Fotodoc Workshop, coordinated by Daniel Merle (editor of The Nation) as end of course test. The result is 52 photographs presented the 5 February to 1 March at the Centro Cultural Borges, under the title Beleaguered Lives.
Inspiration BA Izrastzoff spoke with Iuri, one of the photographers participating in the sample, which has views on the work.
BA Inspiration (BAI): How did the theme of the show?
Yuri Izrastzoff (II): During the workshop is to identify a group exercise to address the issue photographically. Here arose the interest of exploring the fears and anxiety in their various: as feeling, defense, patología, trauma. The search process was taking the fifteen authors in ways that provide different ways to approach these daily realities.
Choose the title was difficult: synthesis was tested as a way not too poetic or cryptic. The photographs show dramatic stories and nothing concessive, but the title should not scare the public.
BAI: How was the experience of making contact with such harsh images and spaces?
II: In some cases, afraid to go to photograph the, as the paradox of the hunter hunted, scared. To varying degrees each author must make his own insight into the selection process and image production.

BAI: What was the search at the time of shooting; wanted to capture what?
II: Some got the fear and anxiety directly, documenting their destruction and symptoms. Others presented in metaphors, through images and nightmarish atavistic.
We sought to understand the fear a little more, reveal the mechanisms that trigger, and sometimes only show the pain in his inexplicable mystery.
BAI: How was the final selection, What do you think of the results and what conclusions and reflections of these images out?
II: Selection, although in principle only was approached by a group Editing, completed involving all photographers, since it is difficult to edit the work of one photographer, and here were fifteen. The result reflects the concepts developed during the production stage: fear and anxiety as an inseparable part of life, but against which people have the tools to overcome them or learn to live better with them.
Photographers participants were Daniel Merle (coordinador), Victoria Quintiero (ccoordinator, Adela Aldama, Muriel Alvarez Arredondo, Constance Bardi, Belen Bejarano, Paula Caldirola, Maria Paz Crotto, Alexandrina Gonzalez Vignoni, Hélène De Jaham, Alejandro Kirchuk, Paula Kobrinsky, Yuri Izrastzoff, Frederick Marion, Fina Rosell, Sacchi and Daiana Matias Valencia.
