A few weeks ago, during the last edition of Pech Kucha, Take note book ‘Bad Thoughts', I instantly struck by the slogan. Although the title means, The idea was to ask emerging artists and illustrators that resulted in a picture a ‘bad thought’ of any kind.

The theme of thoughts and mental images that cause fear or simply concerned about is an area that has always interested me (in part by nightmares quite frequently experience visual). And it is rich to see how under a single and simple slogan, Each artist uses different ideas, from abstract images with a dark tint, to visual storybook or simply feelings of distress (as ‘rain’ Fallen trees and Lala Ladcani).

The book is the second publication of the young editorial Grin&Shein Haus Founded by designer Yanina Szalkowicz.

“Evil thoughts is a trigger for ideas, fanciful and unreal situations. Is image after image after image, tirelessly, reassuring borderless, breathless. It is a personal and experimental work in which the succession of images creates an exciting visual journey. Jumping techniques, Color Palettes, high and low iconicity. There are particular ways of saying things. Looks sharp, melancholy, morbid, naive, direct, dramatic, ironic”, Szalkowicz described in a press release.

Were 65 illustrators who participated in this project, that for a bargain price acceptable $53, I think a great gift to avoid falling into the typical shopping present and contribute to a project that encourages the spread of the talent of emerging artists. The book gets into the outlets listed in the publisher's site or by contacting the same.
