I ran into Andrea Cavagnaro work in a shop in Buenos Aires Design, automatically where I hypnotized her words ‘Thousand Leaves’ Lenci cloth (as seen above). And, as often happens, to contact her for more of his work I was surprised with the variety and depth of things you do.

Cavagnaro was trained as an industrial designer, but their works are separated a bit of design to explore something permanent land. Take the case of a thousand sheets of cloth Lenci, for example: seem a perfect accessory for a house, but could also be works of art for its evocative and generative function of reaction, in my opinion than the grain decorative.

More in the rest of post.

Something similar happens with the facilities of the artist in the street. Covering the wall of a shack with fuchsia teddy seems something very beautiful that could simply be an aesthetic intention behind, but to think a little on the spot, there seems to be something deeper than the mere purpose of transforming the environment.

Asked by BA Inspiration, Cavagnaro says that for her, “art practice is between ego and personality vacuum”.

On the words textiles, Comments: “each word or object is a reminder, a kind of intervention into the private lives of others while enjoying an excuse for the repetition, color breaks and rhythms, the manner and time itself”.

“I started working with textiles as a purely formal search. But the contemporary stage shows of work in the public space that has done since 2002, a bit by the need of meditation in this workshop, after putting the body as in a situation with assistance. In textile manufacturing, the body is connected with itself, breathing, energy, with its invisible parts. It is an intimate moment”.

As mentioned above, interesting were once in public facilities: from installing phrases with flowers in the garden of the museum of architecture to cover walls of private houses or pieces of toy train stations.

About these comments: “intervention is as a reminder for others and for me. Common space is used as location for resistance: poetry outside the museum, for example, because it is possible another way of things. The art demystified, as art work, as a measure of time, vibration, unanswered question. One way of daily life”.

In addition to interesting provocations, the words make me a nice original gift. They can be purchased in different local (most recommended) contacting the artist through his Blog.
