Sometimes it happens: when I use pictures or info of a place I visited for other Notes I forget to share them here. Too many times I forget to bring to the readers of this blog I write notes for other media that I think might interest them, such as 12-In and Ana Walsh I published TuVerde some time ago.
Moca Cultural Center was in May and I loved it instantly. Perhaps it has something to do that is away a bit from the typical places of Buenos Aires cool, or maybe that logo is so adorable red face, but I saw in this space a great freshness.
I love that is furnished with objects from the old factory Bagley (Some of the white tables are doors!) and that his store not super flashy but with interesting items from brands like Bondi Group, Minimum Footprint or Pneumatics. The same is addressed in the design section just because the designers of Minimum Footprint, Natalia Estrada Angeles Hojman y.
It also has a very nice auditorium covered in wood from which I could not take pictures.
The programming is quite ‘slow’ say, there are hundreds of things to see when you, but it also has some interest veil. And is varied, something indefinable yet, in my opinion.
To give an idea: when I went there was a very interesting exhibition of Italian artist Sabrina Mezzaqui, performing various objects and works with paper: a ‘world’ worked with origami maps, a large table with folded book pages, soaked paper in the form of flowers on the walls. Until recently there was a projection exposure of photographs of the abandoned factory of Renault in La Île Séguin, located on the Seine west of Paris. And until next Sunday 16 is performed sample of video art in Latin America and the Caribbean call Videoarde, that sounds interesting.
Something else to note: so far most of the samples were free admission, except for courses and workshops.
In short, if you still do not know, is a very interesting place that is worth the ‘penalty’ the trip to southern. The Moca is in Montes de Oca 169 (can be reached by taking the subway C to Constitution) and is open Wednesday to Sunday 15 about 21.
