Flaneur, the book

The photoblog Flaneur was probably one of the first blogs in Argentina that I followed when I was introduced to the local web scene. Its author, graphic designer and photographer Albano Garcia, posts a photo every two or three days with a look of Buenos Aires very peculiar.

No wonder then that will not be long until that look out compiled in a book, which Bookstore Ediciones launched a few weeks ago.

“Flaneur”, to the author of the submission of the blog, “is a French term that refers to a man who wanders aimlessly through the city, drifting, sin apuros, surprised at every turn, like a real bum”. This description, especially ‘sin apuros’ and ‘unhurried at every turn ', I think a good summary leaves the impression that the site and images García.

However, specifically, What is the Buenos Aires Flaneur? BAINSPIRATION consulted, Garcia says:

“The Buenos Aires of my photos is a mix of the city of my childhood and walks, Not Current, is losing its identity by leaps and bounds. I want to emphasize what survives of the past, good and bad architecture, glorious graphics, textures, colors, ready-mades involuntarios, etc.. He who buys the book will be a very authentic Buenos Aires, is out there; but, however, no tango, or obelisks, or Puerto Madero”.

Among her favorite neighborhoods and places, Garcia notes “center, San Telmo, Boedo, Constitution, Once, Chas, and any area not known to walk it and give” and ensures that “dynamite scenery of Puerto Madero, and perhaps both Palermos”.

Galician bars, bolichones, tins and formic, lyricist and posters are among her favorite things in the city.

If you knew the site, is good to browse your images with the words of the author's head and try to see these peculiarities in photos. If they had not seen, I invite you to let lose its streets.
