A semi-demolished building occupied by a self-summoned neighbors assembly, one of few still standing from early-century crisis, where there are free activities ranging from an anarchist library/video library to a cycling-mechanics workshop, which -on top of it- is placed next to a train station and a soon a subway stop. I mean: a BA Inspiration dream come true.
It's the Assembly of Villa Urquiza, located at Avenida Triunvirato 4778, in what used to be an old pizza place called La Ideal, of which still remain some billboards and an oven.
I visited it some time ago when we learned to patch tires at La Fabricicleta, and I was delighted with the place.
This Sunday, after Critical Mass Buenos Aires, there's a perfect excuse to visit: they are throwing a party with the typical elements (music, projections, buffet) with proceeds going to various arrangements that are needed in place. The details are at the corresponding Fais event, but if you come to ride from the Obelisk at 16.00 you'll probably get there from inertia.
Here are some pictures of the place I took when I was there. The guys who are leading the Assembly now are open to new proposals for workshops and activities, so you can step by and chat if you have ideas.
